Message The EGT limitations and normal operating range on the 757's and 767's that I fly are almost the same as what you see with our Z's. In cruse flight for instance, the EGT's of the Rolls Royce RB211-535E4-B, installed on our 757's, runs right around 700 c. Check out your EGT's next time you are cruising along at 70 MPH. Full power takeoff thrust yields right around 900 c. So yes,, I would say you definitely want to use jet engine quality material.
